A response to the architectural traditions of the Classical era, GamFratesi’s Doric Coffee Table continues an exploration that the duo began with the , and extends the studio’s material investigation into the aesthetic and functional possibilities of limestone. The result is two very different expressions, and two distinct responses to the same inspiration: the Classical column.
This table takes its name from the Doric order of ancient Greek – and later Roman – architecture. The oldest and least ornamental of the three Classical orders, Doric architecture is characterized by restraint, symmetry, and simplicity, with decorative features generally limited to the vertical fluting that is so closely associated with the Doric column.
- Made in Italy from limestone – the table’s monolithic form emphasizes the materiality of the stone, the natural beauty of its veins, and the vibrant texture of its unique patina.

| Daily Use | Avoid pulling, sliding, or dragging objects across the surface, as abrasive friction can cause scratches. Coasters and trivets are advised to minimise exposure to heat. Do not put cookware or other high heat objects directly onto the surface. |
| Cleaning | Use a damp, soft cloth to wipe surface. Do not use scouring pads, acidic detergents, or abrasive cleaning products, which may permanently scratch, stain, or damage the surface. Limestone is porous, and will absorb stains from acidic liquids such as vinegar, wine, fruit juices, coffee and tea. Clean spills immediately with a soft damp cloth and neutral soap. Treatment of GUBI’s limestone tops should be performed by a professional, or at the customer's own risk. |
| Exposure | Prolonged exposure to sunlight will cause fading over time, and discolouration can occur when objects placed on the surface are left in the same place for long periods. Excessive weight or impact can crack limestone, as well as extended exposure to moisture. |
